Matthew P. Grow serves as the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Surgical and Procedural Areas at UC Davis Medical Center.
In this role, Grow is primarily responsible for the ongoing efforts to expand patient access, throughput, and the improvement of quality and safety in all surgical and procedural areas at the medical center.
These duties include overseeing Perioperative Services ORs (Pavilion, SDSC, UTSES), Children’s Surgery Center (CSC), Comprehensive Cardiac and Vascular Services (Cath, EP), Interventional Radiology, Interventional Pulmonology, and the Gastroenterology Lab.
Grow also serves as the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations for the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Clinically, in addition to direct patient care, he functions as the OR service director, managing staffing and patient flow throughout the hospital's multiple surgical and procedural areas.
Grow earned his M.D. from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, in 1999. He fulfilled an internship at the University of Nevada/VA Medical Center, Reno, from 1999 to 2000, and undertook a residency at UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, from 2000 to 2003.
Grow is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the California Society of Anesthesiology. He has been board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology since 2003.
