Dr. Margolis believes in compassionate, science driven patient care. His goal is to improve and restore vision and improve comfort and quality of life. He strongly believes in working with his patients to make decisions as a team that best suit them individually. He enjoys spending his time outdoors gardening, biking along the American River, spending weekends enjoying the sun or snow in Tahoe, as well as spending time with family, friends, and his two labradors retrievers.
Dr. Margolis is an opthalmogolist with specialty training in cornea, external eye eisease, and refractive surgery. His clinical focus includes infectious and inflammatory eye disorders, surgical treatment of corneal loss of vision and blindness through corneal transplantation, as well as the management of keratoconus, cataracts, dry eyes, and improvement of vision through refractive surgery.
Dr. Margolis is an academic surgeon, clinician, and educator whose research focus is primarily on translational efforts to improve corneal and ocular surface wound healing as part of the treatment of various inflammatory and infectious ocular surface diseases.
