She takes the time to understand the aspects of life most impacted by neuro-ophthalmic conditions, with the goal of identifying the most effective and current treatment options. Dr. Liu is committed to improving her patients' quality of life, working to restore vision and well-being through personalized care and proactive solutions.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Liu is a neuro-ophthalmologist offering care to both adults and children with neurological conditions that affect vision. Her clinical interests include optic neuritis, pseudotumor cerebri syndrome (idiopathic intracranial hypertension), giant cell arteritis, and the eye manifestations of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Dr. Liu is committed to advancing patient care by incorporating innovative ophthalmic technologies and telemedicine into clinical practice.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Liu’s research focuses on advancing the understanding of neuro-ophthalmic conditions through innovative ophthalmic technologies and investigating the pathogenesis of these diseases using animal models. She aims to develop ocular biomarkers for improved diagnosis, disease progression tracking, treatment response, and visual outcome prediction, particularly in giant cell arteritis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, Dr. Liu is exploring the use of telemedicine to enhance patient care and broaden access to advanced diagnostic tools in the field of neuro-ophthalmology.
