Dietetic Internship Graduation Requirements
Throughout the internship, the Internship Coordinator and Director monitor the intern's progress based on written evaluations completed at the end of each rotation. All required learning experiences must be completed at a satisfactory level in order to receive a Verification Statement documenting completion of the dietetic internship and establishing eligibility to sit for the Registration Examination for Dietitians.

The intern must achieve a minimum of one “4” or “5” rating (on a scale of 1-5) for each ACEND core competency (CRD) and nutrition therapy concentration competency (NT) during the dietetic internship program.

The intern must complete the following rotations at a satisfactory level. Satisfactory performance for each rotation is defined as:

No greater than three ratings of “1” or “2” for competency performance indicators on the rotation performance evaluation form.

The intern must present a case study, meet all case study requirements and receive an average score of 70% or better (19.5/28 on presentation; 14/20 on written report) on Case Study Evaluations.

The intern must lead a journal club discussion, meet all journal club requirements and receive an average score of 70% or better (16.8/24) on Journal Club Evaluations.

Evaluations from all supervised practice learning experiences, didactic learning experiences, the journal club discussion, and the case study assignment must be completed and turned in for the intern to receive the Verification Statement.
- A minimum of 1200 supervised practice hours must be completed.

Interns must complete the dietetic internship program within two years from the start date of the program year s/he is accepted.
Upon fulfilling the requirements of the dietetic internship program, interns will receive a Verification Statement indicating that the internship has been completed. The Internship Director will complete the Verification Statement and provide five original copies to the intern on the last day of the program. One original Verification Statements will be kept in the Department of Food and Nutrition Services indefinitely. Upon satisfactory completion of the internship, interns are eligible to become active members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and to sit for the Registration Examination for Dietitians administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
