Shingle Springs Subaru helps with race for a sarcoma cure
Last July, R. Lor Randall, M.D., sarcoma surgeon, researcher, and chair of the UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, headed to the Sierra Nevada foothills to present Shingle Springs Subaru with a symbol of UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center gratitude: a race car-style trophy. Since 2021, the El Dorado County dealership has leveraged Subaru’s annual Share the Love Event to raise nearly $400,000 to help with Randall’s research into sarcoma.

National study on pediatric meniscus tear treatment
Thanks to a $150,000 grant from the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, pediatric orthopaedic surgeon Brian Haus, M.D., is spearheading a North American registry to determine the best treatment for meniscus tears in young athletes. The study aims to improve outcomes and reduce long-term disability from these increasingly common injuries.
