Dr. Munoz believes that a Pediatrician's role is not working just with the patient but also working alongside and collaborating with the family unit as a whole. He feels strongly that the pediatric visit is not only an opportunity to provide, safe, effective medical care, but also to ensure the wellness of the parents/guardians since they play such a significant role in the child's life. With his interests in well child care, Dr. Munoz provides a secure medical home for the families he cares for to ensure that a child/adolescent's wellness are optimized.
Dr. Munoz is a General Pediatrician who works with the families of his patients to provide the best care that children deserve. His clinical interests are in well child care and also acute/urgent care.
Dr. Munoz's research/academic interests are focused towards mentorship, recruitment and retention of UIM (Underrepresented in Medicine) students interested in pursuing a career in the Health Professions. He is also focused in curriculum and assessment development within Health Professions Education. In addition, he has a strong interest in community advocacy, particularly for underserved communities here in the Sacramento area and the Central Valley.
